Writing Quality Reports

About Course

Reports are a central part of managing a contract or grant. The purpose of any report is to provide an update to the Client on how well you are achieving against the purpose and activities within the contract or grant.

Firstly, you need to understand why the funding has been given through a contract or grant. What is the purpose? What is expected to be achieved and through what activities?

Secondly, be clear about the Client’s expectations and priorities to ensure you produce a report that meets their needs.

Thirdly, get your Client’s agreement at the start on the structure of your report so there is no misunderstanding or delays.

Finally, use the calendar tips provided in this handout to keep you ahead of your goals, and able to produce an excellent report.
